Why this matters
Until today, a referral you sent disappeared. A clinic that ignored it looked exactly the same as a clinic that took care of it, and you only found out months later when a relationship had already gone quiet.
From now on you can see who opens your referrals quickly, who leaves them sitting, and you find out while there is still time to pick up the phone.
01
You can see when a clinic opens your referral
Until now a referral went out and you heard nothing back unless somebody pressed a button, and nobody ever did. The app now notices by itself the moment a clinic opens the link you sent.
Where to look. Open any referral from History. Under Status there is a new line, Seen by clinic, with the day and the time. In the History list, anything a clinic has opened shows a small green word, seen.
02
How we know a person really opened it
This is the part worth understanding, because it is what makes the number trustworthy.
Phones peek on their own. The moment you send a text with a link in it, phones fetch that link automatically just to draw the little preview picture in the message. That is a machine looking, not a person. If we counted those, every referral would look opened two seconds after you sent it, and the number would be worthless.
So we count something else. The app only records an open when the page actually runs on a real phone, in a real browser, which is something only a person tapping the link can cause. When your app says Seen by clinic, a human at that clinic opened it with their own hand.
What we keep. The time it was first opened, and how many times it has been opened since. If somebody at the clinic goes back to it three times, you will see that. The link stays alive for seven days and the counting runs for as long as it lives. No name, no phone, nothing about the patient. Ever.
03
A new tab called Alerts
The app can now tap you on the shoulder instead of waiting for you to check it. Four things it can tell you, and you decide which ones you want.
The four switches. When a clinic opens your referral. When one has still not been opened after two days. When a link is about to expire and was never opened. And when the monthly reports are ready. No patient name appears in any of them, and nothing arrives outside working hours.
04
Your numbers, by month and by group
In the same Alerts tab, under the switches, you can see how you are doing. Everything belongs to a month, so nothing gets mixed together.
How to read it. Three counts at the top: sent, seen, and still waiting. Under them, how many were seen the same day you sent them. Then each of your six groups. Tap a group to open it and see every referral inside, when you sent it, and the moment it was opened.
05
Your week now compares itself
The chart on the Home screen used to be decoration. It is real now, and it shows this week against last week.
How to read it. The solid maroon line is this week. The pale line behind it is last week, up to the same day. On the right it says plainly whether you are ahead or behind.
06
A new look, and a new icon
New colors through the app, and Smart Referral has its own mark now instead of the old one.
To see the new icon. Press and hold the Smart Referral icon on your home screen and remove it. Then open the app in Safari and add it to your home screen again. Your phone keeps the old picture until you do this. Nothing is lost, everything lives on our servers.
